Ed & Valerie Schubert are international missionaries serving in Honduras. In 2001, the Lord moved Ed & Valerie, and their two young sons, from their family dairy farm in northwestern Illinois to Honduras, beginning a journey that has lasted more than sixteen years. Ed & Valerie serve as leaders within Foundation Casa de Luz. Ed serves in the role of Comptroller for the local Casa de Luz board of directors and Valerie is the president of the ministry. In addition to their full-time duties on the Board of Directors for Casa de Luz, Ed leads volunteer ministry teams from churches throughout the United States and both Ed & Valerie provide leadership for young adult mission interns serving within Casa de Luz. After sixteen years on the foreign mission field, Ed & Valerie recognize that many missionaries struggle to connect in relationships and often battle a sense of feeling overwhelmed in the work of serving on a foreign field. As a result, Ed & Valerie extend a “Helper Ministry” to missionaries in need of godly counsel, refreshment and encouragement. They are blessed with two biological sons who both currently live in the U.S., an adopted daughter living with them in Honduras and six spiritual daughters. In all they do, Ed & Valerie live by this family mission statement… “Because Eternity Matters, we commit to live missionally and intentionally For Christ while serving others with joy and humility for the glory of The LORD!”
