At-Risk Elderly Ministry called “Grandparents of Casa de Luz”

The nation of Honduras has a severe limitation of access to basic resources -such as food and medicine- for the elderly, disabled, or mentally challenged adult. We come alongside elderly members of the community who do not have dependable access to food, medicine, or personal hygiene products and provide these basic resources so that the elderly can age with dignity and not shame.

In the process of meeting critical physical needs, we build relationships and engage in spiritual care with each grandpa and grandma. Our ministry to the elderly satisfies both physical and spiritual hunger among some of the most vulnerable members of society.

A young woman in a blue t-shirt is helping an elderly woman in front of a rustic house, holding her arm gently and smiling. A man in a cowboy hat is seated in the background.
A young woman with black hair, glasses, and a red cardigan is sitting and showing an open book to an elderly woman with gray hair, wearing a pink shirt and a checkered apron. They are sitting on a colorful, floral-patterned sofa, in what looks like a cozy kitchen or living space, with shelves of jars and containers in the background.
Two hands gently holding each other, one of which appears old and wrinkled while the other is smooth and youthful.
A woman with blonde hair, wearing a red jacket, is kneeling and holding hands with an elderly man with a gray beard, wearing a dark jacket, a beanie, and sitting on a chair in a rustic room. The woman is also holding an open notebook or journal.
